Something Else That’s Never On Time

Hey everyone, so today’s comic being late is entirely on me. Rio actually sent it to me last week so I could upload it and I totally dropped the ball on this one. I hope you guys enjoy the comic, the next one or two won’t have much/any dialogue in them, but after that, the story really starts to pick up and head where I want it to.

Oh Sh*t I’m Late

WOAH!!!!! Long time no post. Now I could go on and make excuses about being busy with work (oh god the work), school, or personal problems, but I’m better than that. Instead I’m going to tell you that we will once again be updating (semi)regularly once more!!!!! I will be starting school very shortly and have more time than I’ll know what to do with (writing!!!! yeah!!!) and Alyssa’s schedule is much more open now too, so updates should be coming more frequently/regularly. Especially since there’s going to be more action and slightly less dialogue from here on out.

On to the comic! Alyssa had a lot of fun drawing this page, and I really like the way it turned out. Please forgive my lack of knowledge on the actual practice of kendo for anyone reading this comic who actually studies the martial art. I really don’t know whether there is a “graduation” of sorts or not, but for the sake of my pride and the continuity of the story, let’s just all pretend that in this alternate universe there is. To be honest, while writing the story, I was torn between kendo and fencing, but decided on kendo for reasons that will be revealed later on in the story. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this week’s page and please, leave your comments below.

Hey everybody!!! I am very sorry about the lack of updates here lately. Alyssa was really busy before/during the holidays and I haven’t been able to get a hold of her for a couple weeks. If worse comes to worse I may have to start drawing the comics myself, but as evidenced by this comic, there is a very good reason why I haven’t been doing that from the beginning.

In regards to this strip, I really feel like I could have done a much better job. Both with the art and the content, but I was rushing myself in an attempt to get this up by midnight and as you can see, that didn’t happen. I could actually make an entire full page strip just about the trip to the store (granted it would be mostly angry rants about stupid people). Furthermore, I would have strips for days if I made comics regarding the things I don’t like about Texas…. But I don’t think you guys would be interested in that, and that’s also not what I want to use this site for. So for now, enjoy the bad art and boring content of this strip until I can get the Chosen back up and running. Big things to come with that

EDIT: Is it sad that it’s been so long since I uploaded a comic that I forgot how for a little bit there?

Hey everyone, sorry the comic’s up a little late today, Alyssa had a pretty tough time getting it scanned and emailed to me with the holiday craziness and all, but it’s still Tuesday right?

Anyway, things are starting to pick up on a couple levels now, and hoo boy, just wait til next week!!! I really hope you guys are enjoying this story so far, if not, I’m going to be posting little mini-comics occasionally, so hopefully you guys will enjoy those instead of or in addition to the regular story. Well, please keep reading and telling your friends, and let me know if you like what I’m doing or not.

In other news, I don’t think I’ll be uploading the inked comics anymore, I may still ink the panel outlines and the outline of the page, but I feel like some of the feeling in Alyssa’s work is lost in the transition. If I ever decide to sell prints or books though, I’m going to work with Alyssa and get them inked and colored so the product you hypothetically pay for is top quality and worth any money you pay

WHEW!!!!! Well, here’s that surprise I mentioned last week. I sat down and took the time to ink this page. Do you guys like it better or worse? I did my absolute best to stick to Alyssa’s original line work, but may have failed a bit. If everyone likes this enough and Alyssa keeps sending me the comic a week in advance, this could definitely be a regular thing. I also felt bad for having put relatively little work into the comic this past month and a half because the entire first chapter is already written.

Now about the story. James is usually a very mellow dog, and doesn’t normally bark like a doberman (or other large intimidating dog of your choice). What could be causing this strange behavior? Guess you’ll just have to come back woncha?

And with that, I’m off to finally start playing Skyward Sword

Missed Opportunities

Hey everybody (all three of you), sorry this is up a week late. Alyssa was very sick for about a week and didn’t have access to her scanner at work because of it. Hopefully you like the strip enough to make up for our combined tardiness. For anyone feeling a bit impatient with the story progression, please just wait a little longer. Everything picks up to a pretty fast pace very soon, and i’m sure by mid December you’ll be on the edge of your seat waiting for Tuesday to come with the next strip.
Which brings me to the next order of business. Tuesday seems to be the day that’s working out best for me to actually get the comic up onto the site, so I think that’s what I’m going to stick with until we can get to a point where we can get more than one comic up a week.

So stay tuned, share the comic with your friends, and comment comment comment!!!!

Oooh!!! P.S. I’m going to try and do something special for next week to see how it turns out. Hopefully I’ll have enough time off from work (and be able to rip myself away from Skyrim long enough) to actually be able to do what I have planned. Only time will tell.

New Kid In Town

Hey everyone, sorry about not getting this up on Saturday like it was supposed to be. There were several issues that prevented this comic from being uploaded on time, so I have decided to start posting comics on Mondays because it’s easier on both Alyssa and myself. I’m still getting the hang of this whole webcomic thing, so update schedules will most likely change a few more times until we get everything figured out. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding

Aaaanyway, on to the comic!! Things start to get more interesting from here on. Who is this strange looking fellow, and what’s he doing creeping on Oliver and Fayre? I really like what Alyssa did with this page. It didn’t really turn out how I had originally pictured it, but she took my idea and put a new spin on it that I would have never thought of myself. For that reason (among many others) I am very grateful to be able to work with such a talented artist, and I think this comic will stand strong all the way to the finish.

Wow! It’s finally starting! Anyone reading this really has no idea how excited i actually am about this. I have been working on this story,even if only the characters for close to a decade now, and i finally get to see it come alive. I hope as the story progresses, you become as close and familiar with the characters as i have. Now, about the season i had to postpone the launch of this story by almost a week (past the timeframe i set a couple months ago before i got back to the states….) Last Friday was pretty hectic, we had a brigade run in the morning and then i had to work late because i wasn’t signing out on leave. So by the time i got off i had pretty much forgotten what the next day was supposed to be. Then i went over to my buddy’s house and after quite a few hennesy and red bulls, i had forgot just about everything else haha. The next morning when i woke up hungover and confused, i remembered about the comic and sent Rio a text asking her to email me the comic as soon as she could. Well Rio was performing with her marching band (blue thunder? Is that what the bsu band is called?) so she wasn’t able to get back to me until later that night while i was on a date. I get home and check my phone to see that her scanner is broken, but she would try to find one she could borrow. It took until Thursday for her to get one, but she was lucky enough to have a friend who said she could keep it, so updates will be every Saturday for the foreseeable future
Im out of town this weekend, so Im posting this from my phone (thank god for smart phones) but next week everything should go much smoother.

I sincerely hope you all enjoy this weeks comic and stick around for the conclusion of Oliver’s many adventures.
